CapCut Asks for Pro at Export: Find the Locked Asset
A Pro prompt can come from one effect, track, template, or export choice hidden in a longer project.
Inspect the export message and look through the timeline for Pro-marked effects, music, stickers, templates, or a locked export setting. Replace one suspected paid element in a duplicate project and try a short export. Do not assume changing resolution alone will remove a Pro asset requirement.
Read the exact export restriction
CapCut says a Pro prompt may be triggered by paid media or effects inside the project, or by a selected export capability. Note whether the message identifies a specific element or setting. If the project uses a template, inspect all its tracks rather than only the visible main video.
- Check each effect, transition, sticker, and audio track for a Pro label.
- Review template elements and overlays near the beginning and end.
- Check whether the selected export quality itself is locked.
Make a reversible test
Duplicate the project, remove or replace one flagged element, and retry export. Keep the original edit intact. If the prompt disappears, you have located the requirement. If it remains, restore that element and inspect the next Pro-marked item or setting.
A paid asset may still require a license even when you choose a lower resolution. Avoid promising a free export until the project contains only assets and settings your account can use.
Finish with a content check
Export a short sample after the prompt clears. Review the result for missing audio, replaced animations, and unexpected branding. Then export the full project using the same allowed settings.
If no obvious Pro badge remains, try exporting a short range from a duplicated project, then split the timeline into halves. When one half still produces the prompt and the other does not, inspect only the effects, music, and overlays in the failing half. This narrows a long edit without deleting every creative choice. Keep a note of each item removed so you can restore non-Pro elements afterward.
