CapCut PC Export Stuck at 99%? Check the Save Stage

Separate a finished render that cannot save from a project clip that stops the export.

Quick answer

At 99%, CapCut says the render may be complete but the file cannot be saved. Check available storage and try a different writable export folder first. If it still stops, export short sections to find a damaged clip or effect, then replace only the failing item.

Check whether the destination is the problem

Write down the current export path before changing it. CapCut lists low disk space and file permissions among common final-stage failures on desktop. Check free space on the destination drive, then choose a simple folder you can write to and make a short export. A successful short export to the new folder points toward the original destination, not the whole timeline.

  1. Confirm enough free storage for the finished file and temporary work.
  2. Try a different ordinary folder, not a protected system location.
  3. Check that the file is not open in another app under the same name.

Isolate a media problem if the path test fails

Keep a copy of the project. Export the first half and then the second half at the same settings. If one half fails, narrow that section until you find the clip, audio file, effect, or transition causing the stop. CapCut recommends smaller exports to locate troublesome media; this is more informative than repeatedly starting the full render.

Worth checking

Do not delete the original project or media while testing. Replace a suspicious item in a copy and compare.

Test the corrected project

Restart CapCut and install an available update if the same simple test still fails. Export one short segment successfully, then the complete project. Open the finished file and check both picture and sound before removing any temporary copy.
