Air-Fryer Tilapia Tacos
Season tilapia, cook it safely and add crunchy toppings after it leaves the basket.
Quick answer
A short air-fry gives tilapia a firm, flaky texture for tacos. Check 145°F in the thickest part rather than guessing from color alone.
What you need
- For four tacos, use about 12 ounces tilapia, four tortillas, shredded cabbage, lime and a yogurt-lime sauce.
- Season fish with chili powder and a little oil; keep raw fish separate from ready-to-eat cabbage.
How to make it work
- Air-fry fillets in a single layer around 375°F, checking early because thin pieces cook quickly.
- When fish reaches 145°F, flake into warm tortillas and add cabbage, sauce and lime.
Checks and useful changes
- If using frozen fish, thaw according to package directions and pat dry for better browning.
- Do not overfill tacos with sauce until serving or the tortillas may soften.
