CS2 Inventory Items Not Showing on Steam Market

A skin is sitting in your Steam inventory, but you cannot find it in the Community Market selling list. That usually means eligibility or listing status—not that the item disappeared.

⚡ QUICK ANSWER

If a CS2 item appears in Steam Inventory but not the Market sell picker, open its item details and check “Marketable” eligibility. Steam shows only eligible items in the sell flow. Purchase restrictions, trade protection, a pending confirmation or an active listing can also change where the item appears. Do not cancel trades or confirm unknown offers while troubleshooting.

Which situation matches your problem?

Choose the closest symptom. The page will point you toward the most useful first check.

Check eligibility: Steam’s Market picker intentionally hides items that cannot currently be sold.

Try these steps in order

Start with the safe, highest-signal checks. Open any step for the reasoning and what to expect.

1
Open the actual item details in Steam Inventory

Check the item description for “Marketable” and any date when its restriction expires.

2
Check for a pending market confirmation

Review your Steam Mobile App or email confirmation channel if you created a listing.

3
Inspect active listings and Market history

Make sure the item is not already reserved by a sale or an on-hold listing.

4
Consider trade protection and timed restrictions

Items recently received in a CS2 trade can have time-limited transfer or modification restrictions.

5
Rule out a simple inventory display problem

Refresh the Steam client, confirm you are on the intended account, and inspect inventory filters.

6
Use Steam Support if records actually disagree

Gather the item name, transaction record, timestamps and screenshots from official pages.

Quick reference you can use

A short checklist or command reference matched to this issue—not a generic optimization list.

A. Observe

I see it in inventory, not the market selection screen.

B. Separate

It is not where I expected after starting a sale.

C. Document

Inventory shows an error or empty list across the board.

What the results actually mean

Use these distinctions to understand the symptom rather than assuming one fix applies to everyone.

INVENTORYOwnership view

An item may exist even when it cannot be sold.

MARKET SELL PICKEREligibility filter

Only currently sale-eligible items appear.

TRADE PROTECTIONTemporary restriction

Recently traded CS2 items can have documented protection periods.

Steam Support expressly distinguishes a visible inventory item from an item eligible for the Market. First establish whether the problem is eligibility, confirmation, or a full inventory-loading failure.

Important limits and safe checks

Avoid shortcuts that create new problems

Do not approve unfamiliar trade confirmations, reveal Steam Guard recovery codes or use third-party “item recovery” websites. A missing Market listing is not evidence that transferring your items elsewhere will help.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers to common questions about this specific CS2 practice command.

Why is my CS2 item in inventory but not in the sell list?

The item may be non-marketable or temporarily restricted; Steam only lists eligible items in the selling picker.

Do recently traded items have a protection period?

Steam documents a seven-day Trade Protection period for CS2 items received through trades.

Does Steam require market confirmation?

Some listings require confirmation through the mobile authenticator or email before becoming active.

Can a new purchase be temporarily unmarketable?

Yes. Read the item details for the applicable restriction date.

Where do I check whether an item was listed or sold?

Use your official Steam Community Market active listings and transaction history.
