The Chippin’ In oil-field conversation matters more than a 70% or 85% relationship percentage. The three dialogue responses in this guide are the commonly documented unlock route; if you have already missed them, use an earlier save when possible.
Start here.
Step by step.
Complete Chippin’ In and speak to Johnny at the oil fields.
Choose the three qualifying responses in the right order.
Reach Nocturne Op55N1 and save before the rooftop decision.
During the rooftop choice, wait quietly for several minutes for the extra option.
Story context.
The affinity percentage is not the unlock key: it is the specific conversation flag established at the oil fields. Save editing and mod console changes can affect quest state and should never be presented as guaranteed repair.
Tip: Make a separate manual save before a major branching conversation. The guide focuses on in-game story choices; outcomes can depend on earlier decisions.
Quick questions.
Does 70% Johnny affinity unlock the ending?
No. The oil-field conversation choices are the main gate.
How long do I wait on the roof?
Allow roughly five minutes without selecting a final choice; the option only appears if the prerequisite flag is set.
