Missing Locker items are often a filter, account or sync problem—not permanent item loss.
Check that you are on the correct Epic account, remove any Locker filters, and look for items that may have been archived or hidden. Then restart Fortnite so the account can sync again. If purchased or earned items are still missing afterward, gather proof of ownership and contact Epic support ↗.
What kind of cosmetic is missing?
The pattern matters more than the item type.
4 steps to recover missing Locker items
These are the clean checks that solve most “missing cosmetics” scares.
Confirm you are on the correct Epic account
If you play across multiple platforms, make sure Fortnite is signed into the Epic account that actually owns the missing cosmetics. A platform sign-in mix-up can make the Locker look stripped even though the items still exist on the correct account.
This is the first thing to check if a large part of the Locker suddenly vanished.
Remove Locker filters and check archived items
Open the Locker and clear filters or sorting that hide certain item types, rarities or sets. If Fortnite supports archiving or hiding items in that category, review that state too. Many “missing” cosmetics are simply being filtered out.
Check each category separately: outfits, wraps, gliders, pickaxes and more.
Restart Fortnite and force a fresh sync
Close Fortnite fully, reopen it and let the account finish syncing. If the Locker problem started after a network hiccup or a platform sign-in switch, a clean restart can help your cosmetics reappear.
A fresh launch is often enough when entitlement sync was delayed.
If purchased items are still missing, gather proof and contact Epic
For recently purchased or earned cosmetics, collect order emails, receipts or reward details and contact Epic support if the items do not return after the sync check. That is especially important if only paid or event-earned items are affected.
Do not keep changing accounts and links once you start a support case—consistency helps.
Performance Mode sacrifices visual fidelity for performance. If clean, high-resolution graphics are the priority, use a supported higher-fidelity rendering mode; do not download unofficial texture packs, edits or “ultra graphics” files.
Useful clues before you contact support
These details tell you whether you are facing a UI problem, a sync problem or a true entitlement issue.
Only one category is affected.
That often points to a filter, archive or category-specific UI issue rather than lost ownership.
Everything disappeared after switching platforms.
Double-check account linking and which Epic account is currently active.
Only recent purchases are missing.
That may be a delayed entitlement sync or a transaction-specific issue.
Friends can still see the item equipped, but it is missing in my Locker.
That points to a display or Locker UI problem more than true item loss.
Need to escalate?
List exactly which items are missing, whether the account was switched recently and whether filters were cleared. That gives Epic support the clearest starting point.
Official help ↗Quick FAQs
Why are my Fortnite cosmetics missing from the Locker?
Usually because of filters, the wrong account, archived items or a sync delay.
Can a relog restore missing items?
Yes. A clean restart can help if the issue is tied to entitlement sync.
Do I need to relink my platform account immediately?
Not unless you are sure the current account link is wrong. Random relinking can make troubleshooting messier.
What if only bought items are missing?
Collect proof of purchase and contact Epic support after basic checks.
Are missing Locker items always gone forever?
No. Many cases are display, filter or sync problems, not permanent loss.
