Fortnite Teammate Ready Green Checkmark Missing — Fix

A missing green tick can be an interface sync problem—or a teammate may still be waiting on another queue requirement.

The quick answer

Rebuild the party-ready state before trying bigger fixes.

Ask each teammate to cancel Ready and ready up again after the playlist has fully loaded. If the green ready checkmark still does not appear, return to the lobby, reselect the correct game mode, and recreate the party with a fresh leader. If anyone sees a different queue message or mode restriction, fix that first; the missing tick may be only a symptom.

Simple checklist

4 simple checks, in the right order

Follow the checks in order, then stop as soon as the issue is resolved. Every change should be easy to undo.

01

Cancel ready and test one teammate at a time

Have every player unready, then let just one player press Ready. Watch whether the checkmark changes for the leader and the other clients. Repeat with each player. If one player never shows Ready while others work, focus troubleshooting on that account’s lobby session.

Do not spam Ready while the playlist is still changing.

02

Reselect the playlist and rebuild the party

Move to a stable, available playlist, allow the mode information to finish loading, and invite the same friends into a completely new party. This removes an older lobby session from the test. If Solo matchmaking works but the party does not, the problem is more likely party-related than a game install issue.

A fresh lobby is more useful than reinstalling Fortnite.

03

Check queue restrictions, game updates and service status

Have everyone confirm they are on the current version of Fortnite and that the chosen playlist supports that party size and platform mix. Look at any actual warning text near the Ready button. If Epic services are degraded, the party status can fail to synchronize.

The green tick itself is not a full diagnostic; any accompanying error text matters more.

04

Fully restart only the affected client first

If one teammate’s status never updates, have them close Fortnite entirely and reconnect to the party. If the same issue affects everyone simultaneously, check services or wait rather than asking every player to change network settings.

Record the platform, playlist and whether it happens after returning from a match.

A missing icon is not proof someone is blocked or banned.

Do not remove friends, unlink accounts or modify privacy settings unless a real permission message asks for that check.

Specific errors

If the first four checks do not help

These symptom-specific notes help you avoid unnecessary fixes.

Only the party leader cannot see the tick.

It may be a leader-side display update; ask a different leader to host for one test.

The missing check appears only after a match.

Return all members to the lobby and let the playlist reset completely.

One person has a different version.

Everyone should update before queueing together.

A mode says Ineligible or Unavailable.

Solve the playlist restriction; ready-state display is secondary.

Still seeing the problem?

Write down the platform, exact symptom and which checks changed the result. Send those details with a screenshot to official support.

Common questions

Quick FAQs

Is the green tick required to join a match?

The underlying ready state is what matters; a missing visual indicator alone does not establish why queueing fails.

Can a bad party leader cause this?

A stale leader or party session can contribute, so testing another host can help.

Will restarting Fortnite remove a friend?

No. It only ends that game session.

Should I reinstall?

Not before party, playlist and service checks.

Is this a known permanent Fortnite bug?

The exact missing-checkmark symptom is not established as a universal permanent bug; diagnose it by context.
