Why the mechanic works

The important distinction is the reward category. A bandit camp chest assigned to traits rerolls the actual trait when reloaded, but it will not magically turn into a wand handle or a guaranteed Concentration III drop. Some traits are earned from Challenges and need to be claimed manually in the Field Guide; the Scorching I trait comes from story progress.

Easy step-by-step guide

  1. Use the checklist to identify which of the 75 entries is missing from your in-game Collections menu.
  2. If it belongs to Challenges, open the completed combat or gear-upgrade challenge tier and claim the reward.
  3. If it belongs to Bandit Camp, travel to any uncleared camp with a trait-category Collection Chest.
  4. Make a manual save before opening the chest. Open it and check the received trait.
  5. If it is not the desired trait, reload and try again. Expect random results; do not promise two-minute success.
  6. If a chest opens without a trait reward, reload immediately and confirm collection status before leaving.

Mistakes & extra tips

Do not overwrite your only safe slot. Keep at least one earlier backup save, and never delete collections or saved games to force a roll.
