Learn the real password from Scrope, then use Alohomora III to reach the Book and Quill of Admittance secret tower. The instructions below focus on the exact location, action or unlock from this keyword—not generic troubleshooting.
Quick Answer
During The Polyjuice Plot you impersonate Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black and speak to Scrope for the password “Toujours Pur.” This progresses you toward the Headmaster’s Office. Later, return with Alohomora III, climb to the upper office, collect the Key of Admittance and use it to open the nearby secret tower door containing the Book and Quill of Admittance.
Interactive guide
Exact steps — in order
Complete The Headmistress Speaks
This leads into The Polyjuice Plot near the later Keeper trials. Speak with Professor Fig first.
Impersonate Headmaster Black
After the Polyjuice Potion sequence, follow the game’s golden route toward Madam Kogawa and the Great Hall.
Speak to Scrope
At the Great Hall, Scrope gives you the password “Toujours Pur,” meaning “Always Pure.” “Scintillation” is not the required office password.
Continue toward the Headmaster’s Office
Use the password in the story mission to reach the office-area Keeper sequence. Follow Niamh Fitzgerald’s Trial requirements.
Get Alohomora III
Return later after unlocking Level III via Gladwin Moon’s Demiguise questline. Access the upper office stairs and climb higher.
Take the Key of Admittance
Collect the key from the upper part of the Headmaster’s Office rather than searching the school courtyard.
Open the secret tower door
Return to the locked decorative door on the tower stair route and use the key. Explore the Book of Admittance and Quill of Acceptance room for the Hogwarts Secret.
Important details and common mistakes
Two different unlock mechanisms
Scrope’s spoken password advances the story; the Key of Admittance opens a separate optional Hogwarts Secret. Do not confuse them.
When the Key appears
It is an upper-office secret accessed after story progression, not an item automatically awarded just for finishing the Polyjuice dialogue.
Alohomora reminder
If a Level III door is still red/locked, finish the additional Demiguise hand-ins for Gladwin Moon.
