Quick answer
There is no official unlimited free Java Edition redemption code. Legitimate paths are the free trial, an eligible offer whose terms you can verify, or redeeming a purchased Minecraft gift code on the official site.
Phishing warning
Legitimate free options
- Play the official Java Edition trial without a full purchase.
- Check Microsoft Rewards in your own region for a Minecraft gift card or eligible store credit; availability and points cost can change.
- Look for publisher-run promotions with published terms; no current free code is verified here.
Redeem a purchased gift code
Minecraft official redemption ↗- Read whether the card is a 25-character Microsoft code or an older Java gift code.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account that should own the game.
- Enter the code in the appropriate official redemption flow, confirm the product and account, then open the official launcher.
For older Java-only cards purchased before December 2020, Minecraft directs users to Player Care if the normal flow fails.
