The quick answer
VALORANT Lotus Rotating Doors: Timing and Sound Cue Guide
Riot increased Lotus rotating-door full-rotation time from eight to ten seconds in Patch 8.0. The full cycle is different from the time it takes a player to step through an opening. Use the timeline to learn the order of events, then practice the actual crossing in a custom game.

The visual subdivisions are explanatory only. Riot's cited note establishes the full rotation time, not these individual phase durations.
Audio rhythm demo — synthetic, not extracted game audio
This synthesized two-tone sound illustrates a cue pattern. It is not an authentic Lotus door recording and should not be used to identify the real cue.
02 Planning around the door cycle
- Call the door activation clearly; Riot has adjusted the volume of the door sound in past patches.
- Watch for the crossing opportunity rather than assuming the whole door is freely passable for ten seconds.
- Use smoke or vision-denial utility to complicate the opponent’s view of the crossing, when available.
- Practice movement-agent repositioning separately; the same approach may not work after geometry or ability changes.
- Do not assume every sound is a full team rotation: opponents can activate the door as a distraction.
03 Two useful door scenarios
Distraction: an attack-side player activates a door while teammates apply pressure somewhere else. Defenders should combine the audible cue with information before rotating. Controlled crossing: a teammate covers the relevant corridor while one player moves through the opening, then the team regroups rather than scattering through both sides.
FAQ Frequently asked questions
How long does the full Lotus door rotation take?
Riot changed the full rotation to ten seconds in Patch 8.0.
Is the audio player real game audio?
No. The sample is synthetic and clearly labeled as an illustration.
Can a door cue be a fake?
Yes. The cue can create pressure even when the attack does not finish through the door.
